Nineteen young athletes came together at Wisdom Boxing Gym for a day built around training, development and the belief that talent deserves opportunity.
Boxing is often judged by what happens inside the ring. At Wisdom Boxing Gym in Accra, we saw everything that happens before it: the discipline, patience, preparation and courage required to keep showing up.
KH Impact brought together 19 young athletes aged 12 to 16 from Wisdom Boxing Gym, Seconds Out and Akotoku. They trained alongside experienced coaches, received new boxing kit and took part in sessions focused on nutrition, development and life beyond competition.
The day was not designed to offer a quick photo opportunity. It was created to recognise the commitment these young people already demonstrate and give them an experience that felt organised, professional and worthy of their potential.
Two-time IBF Bantamweight World Champion Joseph “King Kong” Agbeko joined the session, giving the athletes the chance to meet someone who understands the demands of progressing from a local gym to the highest level of the sport.
His presence mattered, but the foundations were already there: coaches investing their time, young athletes supporting one another and a gym acting as a consistent space for growth.
The strongest moments were not always the loudest. They were found in the concentration during training, the pride of wearing new kit and the confidence shown by athletes who were given the chance to be seen.
This project reinforced what KH Impact stands for. Sport can develop far more than physical ability. With the right people and support around it, it can strengthen identity, create structure and help young people imagine a future that feels possible.
